SABRINA BELOUFA

Dedicated and Passionate

I graduated with a Master's degree in Cognitive Psychology in 2011. I use, among other techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in individual therapy. I am also trained in American methods of assessment and intervention in couples therapy and for the treatment of sexual disorders in couples (Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples).

I have been practicing in Nice since 2020, and thanks to video conferencing, I can help people all over France and abroad. I offer consultations in French and English.

I believe that I am a sincere person. I don't pretend to know everything, and I enjoy investigating what I don't know. I often collaborate with other professionals who have other expertise or complementary skills. My priority is to obtain a positive result for your health.

I often find my patients incredible and my job fascinating. I love getting to know individuals and doing my best to understand them.

MY APPROACH

Training and scientific method.

My practice is quite marked by my years spent doing research: this means that my method involves practicing documentary monitoring, doing research if necessary, taking care to properly assess the situation before intervening, as far as possible to measure the situation before and after the therapeutic intervention, in order to understand its impact.

I also use different tools to measure situations and interventions such as questionnaires, oximeters, andOf course subjective evaluations of the patient himself.

I also manage several projects to develop tools that aim to improve my practice and that of other health professionals, such as a project to create a complete online questionnaire to assess the couple relationship.

Finally, I also try to provide psychoeducation materials (see the psychoeducation tab) to my patients and anyone wishing to work on themselves.

The goal of all this work is to provide more accurate and effective therapy work.

DEONTOLOGY

Integrity, Confidentiality, and Situated Practice*

*Situated Practice: A type of therapy that takes into account the social and political context of the client's life.

Currently a member of two unions (FFPP and SNP), my practice is governed by the Code of Ethics of French Psychologists of 1996, updated and already signed on February 4, 2012 by 16 organizations. This code emphasizes the idea that respect for the person in their psychic dimension is an inalienable right.

Respect for this code also means that I respect the duty of training and supervision.

My practice is also "situated". According to the website "psy situé.e.s", a situated practice "ensures a space in which we strive not to reproduce the systemic oppressions existing in the social field: Racism, patriarchy, validism, classism, ageism, transphobia... A situated therapist is aware of these discriminations, knows their effects and consequences, takes them into account and seeks to exclude them from their own practices".*

These are not just words. In my life, I have taken an active part in the fight for equality on multiple occasions. I have been a volunteer member of several associations defending the most vulnerable, the most well-known of which I have worked with being: The Red Cross, The Little Brothers of the Poor, and the French Movement for Family Planning.
