Individual Therapy

Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Are you repeating a life scenario and you can't get out of it?

What is CBT and how can it help me?

I apply effective cognitive and behavioral psychotherapy techniques to help patients understand themselves and encourage them to adopt new attitudes towards challenges.

It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic formula that will instantly solve all your problems, but a process that requires as much investment from the patient as from the therapist . You have to see CBT as sports sessions for the brain : the more you train, the more regular you are, the more you see the results appear.

Ultimately, small changes like learning to manage feelings of sadness or fear can lead to big victories .

How do CBT sessions take place?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, present-focused therapeutic method aimed at addressing specific problems by adjusting problematic thoughts and behaviors.

CBT sessions, often limited to 5 to 20 sessions depending on individual needs, usually begin with an assessment of progress since the previous meeting and then focus on a current problem.

The therapist and individual work together to identify thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that need to be changed . They then develop practical strategies together to make these changes, including exercises to do between sessions.

How does CBT differ from other methods?

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (CBT) are distinguished from other forms of therapy by their practical and structured approach, focused on solving specific problems and modifying dysfunctional thoughts and behaviors .

Unlike approaches like psychoanalysis, which explore in depth the historical and unconscious roots of behaviors, CBT focuses on the present, seeking to equip individuals with concrete strategies to manage their daily difficulties .

It emphasizes clearly defined goals and the application of specific techniques, often including tasks between sessions, to promote rapid, measurable changes in the person's behavior and emotional well-being.

CBT is characterized by a collaborative approach , encouraging active participation of the individual in their healing process and strengthening their sense of personal efficacy and mastery .
